How is pension calculated?
Employees contribute around 9.15% of their salary to the national pension system. The employer also matches that amount and contributes it to the pension.
How is health insurance being calculated?
Your health insurance may be through the national system or a private provider chosen by your employer. We assume a 5% employee contribution, which is a common average.
How is unemployment insurance being calculated?
Employees typically pay around 0.6% of their income into the unemployment insurance system.
How is the national income tax being calculated?
Applied to your taxable income — which is your gross salary minus all the deductions above, a standard deduction (¥480,000), and other personal allowances (not included here). Note: The ¥480,000 standard deduction only applies if your salary is below ¥24,000,000. It phases out after that.
